FTI Universitas Aisyah Pringsewu Holds Workshop on Introduction to UI/UX Design and Industrial Software

PRINGSEWU (UAP) – The Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) at Universitas Aisyah Pringsewu successfully held a workshop titled “Introduction to UI/UX Design and Industrial Software” on Saturday, December 14, 2024. The event took place in the Computer Laboratory on the 3rd floor of Building E at Universitas Aisyah Pringsewu and was attended by dozens of students from various study programs within FTI.

The workshop featured an experienced speaker in the field of information technology, Willy Santori, S.Kom., a UI/UX Designer Practitioner from Lingble pte.ltd (Singapore). He shared insights on the importance of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design in application development, as well as the role of industrial software in enhancing operational efficiency in companies.

The Dean of FTI Universitas Aisyah Pringsewu, Dr. Ir. Zulkifli, S.T., M.Kom., stated that this activity aims to equip students with knowledge and skills relevant to current industry needs. “We want students to not only have theoretical knowledge but also be able to understand and apply practical skills such as UI/UX design and the use of industrial software in the workplace,” he said.

The workshop materials began with an introduction to the basic concepts of UI/UX design, including good design principles, the importance of user research, and the process of creating wireframes. Participants were also given the opportunity to practice directly using design software. In the second session, the focus shifted to industrial software, where participants were introduced to technology and its applications in various business sectors.

The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from the many questions asked during the discussion session. One participant, Anti Aisyah, a student of the Informatics Engineering program, expressed that the workshop was very beneficial. “I now understand better how to design applications that are not only visually appealing but also easy for users to use,” she said.

It is hoped that workshops like this can continue to be held regularly to enhance the competence of FTI Universitas Aisyah Pringsewu students and prepare them to face challenges in the workforce. (*na)
